Queen's 90th Birthday

Image of burning beaconsOn Thursday 21st April 2016 Her Majesty The Queen's 90th birthday was marked by the lighting of beacons up and down the country, as part of a long tradition of celebrating royal events in this way. In the village of Burley a bonfire-beacon was organised in conjunction with Burley Parish Council and Mr Dan Tanner. Over 200 people attended to enjoy the ceremonial lighting of the bonfire by Mr Philip Daubeney, Chairman of the Parish Council, who also led the singing of "Happy Birthday" to Her Majesty.
